--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Example situation for filling pWPS. CASE 1

Table QW-451.1 (Continuous…);

 3. Maximum thickness ‘t’ of deposited weld metal qualified, in (mm)
a.   In our case it is 2t; that is 2x3.91mm=7.82mm. This ‘t’ is calculated based on the process welded on a joint. If a joint is welded with 2 process, then 2t will be applicable to both the process

b.   Suppose we welded a base material of 10mm by GTAW (4mm using gtaw – Root and Hotpass) and SMAW(6mm using smaw). The range of weld metal qualified will be ; For GTAW: 2 x 4=8mm; For SMAW 2 x 6 =12mm

       4. Type and number of tests required (Tension and Guided -Bend Tests)

a.   Tension, Side bend, Face Bend and Root bend tests as required are mentioned in this columns.
