PIPE END PREPARATIONS
PIPES ARE SUPPLIED WITH DIFFERENT END PREPARATIONS AS PER CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS.
SOME OF THE MOST COMMON TYPES ARE GIVEN BELOW
Different pipe end preparation methods are required based on design requirement, code requirement or application requirement.
The very common methods are beveled end (Commonly designated as BE), Plain end (PE) and Threaded end(TE). This end preparation details are also to be mentioned when you are placing a purchase order for pipe procurement.
Pipes are supplied with both end preparations same or different.
The more common method of supply are, beveled at both ends for 2NB and above pipes and both ends plain for the pipes below 2NB. This is not a rule, just a practice commonly seen because most of the pipes below 2NB are used for socket weld joints.
