HOW TO ATTEND AN INTERVIEW?

HOW TO ATTEND AN INTERVIEW?

Don't think that i am going to say the same old stuff of golden rules on how to attend the interview. This is my experience of attending an interview.

I got an interview call for the post of QA/QC manager for a reputed overseas organisation. The interview call is for the positions of QA/QC engineer, Sr.QA/QC engineer and QA/QC Manager.

I entered the hall where the candidates are waiting. There was around 50 to 60 candidates sitting and some are standing. I approached the help desk, where a lady gave me a form to fill, where i have to write my biodata (I had a biodata on MS word format) on their format.

I filled it and handovered to them. They told me sit on any of the chairs available and informed me that the interview will start only after one and half hours. I took a seat and relaxed.

The candidate next to me was for the post of QA/QC engineer. He was wearing a full sleeve green shirt with out tuck in. The sleeves are rolled in a casual fashion. He had moustache which is not trimmed or arranged properly. The beard was not properly trimmed. He was wearing casual sandals.

The candidate in the front row was wearing a casual T shirt which is full of design and jeans pant with a sports shoe. He had clean shaved beard and moustache.

There was many other candidates with moustache and beard and casual sandals.

Many of the candidates are with a back pack and they may be travelled from long distances.

The interview started. The first one entered with the back pack on one hand and the certificates on the other hand. I have not seen an energy or smile in his face when he entered the interview room.

Sorry to say that they are all mechanical engineers.

I am not saying that they are not knowledgeable or they are not fit for the job, but don't forget that first impression is the best impression.

If you are going for a friends marriage will you go with this dress and without a smile in your face. No, you will present yourself in the best available style that you can.

You can have beard, moustache, casual T shirt, casual sandals or anything that you like, but each situation has different presenting styles and dress codes.

⇉If you are comfortable with beard and moustache, trim them properly.

Do a perfect haircut which you feel confident in your looks.

⇉ Roll down your sleeves or use a half sleeve shirt.

⇉Tuck in your shirt.

Have a good pair of matching shirt and trousers, no need it to be a costly one.

Keep your back pack outside the interview room.

Enter the room with a smile and with energy in your movements.

Follow the basic etiquette's in the interview...First impression is always the best impression...
