The common question
before starting of the actual execution phase of any project is ,
"What are the inspection reports to be generated in this project?"
If the job is of a
common nature then also there will be slight differences in the inspection
reports that are to be generated.
Before going to the
answer of the question let us answer another question.
Why this reports are generated?
Contractor: It is to show to the client that I
have done the step wise procedures properly for each work and records are
maintained.
Client: It is to ensure that the Contractor has done
the step wise procedure as per the terms of agreement.
What are the inspection reports to be generated?
1. Those reports of the works, which are mandatory as
per Govt. Laws.
2. Those reports of the works, which are mandatory as
per contract document.
3. Those reports which are needed for billing of the
executed work. ( For item rate contract)
A simple thump rule is that there should be inspection
report for each of the work description in the SOR (Schedule Of Rates).
Those inspection reports will
be the backup document for the billing purpose and will also act as the
supporting document for contractual obligation fullfillness.
