There are many common myths in the mechanical construction industry.
1. In carbon steel
weld joint NDT is to be done after PWHT.
As per ASME B 31.3
there is no such code instruction. NDT for carbon steel can be done before or
after PWHT.
2. SS files to be
used for filing SS jobs.
There is no SS file available only CS files are available.
3. Alloysteel qualified welder is qualified to weld all other
welds.
The qualification criterias are goverened by ASME Sec IX or other
codes as per the construction code.
