SITE DIARY
PART 2
How government budgets and some news affects the construction activities is an interesting topic.

The market fluctuations govern the cost of production and project cost. For Some items / activities there is a direct cost impact and for some others indirect impact.

Direct Cost Impact

If cost of steel is increasing, sure, we can say that cost of production will be more. This is a good example of direct cost impact.

Indirect Cost Impact

If cost or tax of cellulose is increasing , will it affect our construction site. The answer is yes. Cellulose is one of the main products in the production of E6010.

If cost of silver is increased, the cost for radiography will increase, because silver is one of the constituents for the production of radiography films, in the form of silver bromide.

NEWS THAT BOTHERS

Like the direct cost impact and indirect cost impact, some news also will be a concern for us.

News with Direct Impact

A national emergency is declared, sure, it will delay our project due to loss of man hours.

News with Indirect Impact

In 2011, there was a news.
CIRUS is closed. APSARA in shutdown and only DHRUVA is working. This is a news from AERB and BARC. These are the nuclear reactors in India and AERB and BARC are the government agencies related to atomic energy.
The news was of no importance until there was a scarcity for the availability of industrial radiography Isotope-Ir192. We are forced to take project deviations for doing UT instead of RT in that condition. The UT mobilisation cost, the time delay in mobilisation etc affected project schedule and project cost.
CIRUS (Canada India Research Utility Services)  - the main reactor which produced radioactive isotopes for industrial purpose. APSARA is another reactor which produces radioisotopes. DHRUVA is Indias largest neuclear reactor. At that period DHRUVA was active but it catered radioactive substances for medical and other research applications only.
