PITROOM (Radiography Camera Storage Room)

Pitroom is the place where we keep the industrial radiography source with safety and security. The pitroom's are made in India as per AERB (Atomic Energy Regulatory Board) Regulations. Like AERB, each country is having their own organisations / government bodies to regulate the functions related to industrial radiography.

Previously the pitroom layout was available in AERB website, which is now removed. 

Approval of Source Storage Pit guidelines can be obtained from AERB website. The general things about pitroom, the location requirements and the security requirements are given in the 'Approval of Source Storage Pit' form.

The pitroom is to be located in a remote place where there are no or less man movement. The security is to be ensured through lock and key fencing, remote sensing cameras and other proper means. Proper lighting is needed around the fencing. Vehicle movement facilities are needed till the main door of pitrroom. The road should not be blocked at any case, if so alternate route arrangement's are to be made available in discussion with RSO.
